"I'd describe myself as a plant collector rather than a landscaper. I love collecting unique plants from all corners of the globe. My main priority when picking a plant is its ability to thrive in my climate. I appreciate tough, resilient plants, and I always prefer perennials."

"Where I live is a transitional zone between Mediterranean and continental climates. Summers can reach 40°C, while winter temps drop to around -10°C—though -20°C isn't unheard of, it's extremely rare. I push the boundaries a bit with my plant selection. I own a few delicate species that might not survive a -6°C to -8°C drop, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Some of them spend the winter tucked away on my glass balcony and head back into the garden come spring."

"In this corner, I've got quite a diverse mix. For instance, there's a young Agave americana, with an umbrella papyrus right behind it—I doubt it'll survive the winter outside, so I plan to propagate it from leaf cuttings and move it indoors. I also have Stipa and blue fescue. On the other side, there are daylilies, among others. In pots, I keep a desert rose and Portulacaria afra, which are just seasonal visitors out here. You can also see a living carpet zone made of a blend of wild herbs, Sedums, Lippia, and Bermuda grass."
