Propagation Methods Early-Spring Indoor Cell-Tray Seeding (The Standard Route): Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the historic local last-frost date. Use modular cell trays filled with a sterile, fine-textured, peat-and-perlite seed starting mix. Sow seeds at a shallow depth of 0.5 cm, mist the surface evenly, and maintain soil temperatures between 21°C and 27°C (70°F to 80°F) using a bottom heat mat. Seeds sprout uniformly within 5 to 8 days. Once emerged, place under high-intensity grow lights for 14 to 16 hours daily. Harden off the seedlings outdoors in sheltered sun for a week before transplanting into the field once soil temperatures consistently hit 15°C (60°F). Mid-Summer Softwood Lateral Cuttings (Clonal Multiplication): Take advantage of the plant's intense root-generating capacity by cloning healthy "suckers" (lateral vegetative shoots that emerge in the leaf axils). Snip off a vigorous, disease-free 10 to 15 cm sucker. Strip the lower leaves, leaving only the top clust
